Rota Co-Ordinator/Team Leader - GI Clinical Admin

Job overview
Duties will include management and co-ordination of the Clinical Rotas for General Surgery, Breast, Vascular and Urology, staff rostering, annual leave and sickness management and monitoring, ensuring application and adherence to Trust HR and Service policies and procedures. Cross cover will also be required for Team Leader colleagues, managing clinics and waiting list.
Main duties of the job
Implement effective monitoring and managing systems for annual leave and sickness in line with Trust Policy, liaising with the Service Manager where service implications are identified
In conjunction with the Service and Business Managers, maintain staffing levels within budget, identifying potential problems so that timely corrective action may be taken.
Day to day operational management responsibility of medical staffing rotas. Identifying and reporting vacancies in rotas, alerting clinical and non-clinical managers including Clinical Rota Masters in order to assist with timely recruitment of permanent and/or temporary medical staff.

Person specification
Knowledge & Experience
* Experience and knowledge of a range of administrative and organisational policies and management information systems
* Experience of data quality management and awareness of "Right First Time"
* Supervisory or management experience
* Experience of working in a pressured and busy environment with supervisory responsibilities
* Awareness and understanding of NHS service, 18 week referral to treatment (RTT) and outpatient and cancer treatment pathways
* Ability to work to and promote Standard operating procedures / performance targets
* Previous RTT/ PTL Validation and management experience
* Demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Word and Excel
Qualifications & Training
* Minimum of 3 GCSEs including English and Maths at Grade C or above or suitable equivalent qualification or relevant experience
* RSA III or NVQ III or suitable equivalent level administrative / supervisory qualification or relevant experience
* Proven competence in using admin and clinical systems e.g. MS Word / Excel / Outlook with excellent typing / keyboard skills
