In this role you will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining and documenting software functionalities, particularly in the areas of X-ray image analysis and motion control. You will work on complex hardware-software interaction problems that require strong analytical and data-driven approaches to enhance usability and extend system capabilities.Role and ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain software for Nordson Automated X-ray Metrology systemsWork with cross-functional engineering teamsDocument software designs and instructions for useSupport and debug field issuesParticipate in code reviews and code auditsTransfer code into volume manufactureMentor less experienced software engineersStay up to date with the latest software techniques and trendsUndertake any other reasonable dutiesSkills and QualificationsDegree in Computer Vision, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experienceStrong foundation in computer vision, image processing, or signal processingProven experience reconstructing raw image data into accurate 3D modelsProactive, data-driven approach to problem solvingProficiency in C++ development in a multi-threaded environment for performance-critical applicationsFamiliarity with GPU programming and parallel computingExperience with Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) and/or Test-Driven Development (TDD)Experience with code management and issue tracking toolsCustomer-facing experienceStrong numerical and analytical skillsDesirable SkillsExperience working in Agile (Scrum/Kanban) or DevOps environments (CI/CD, unit testing, TDD)Software development on 64-bit Windows 10/11 platformsUnderstanding of X-ray inspection and materials testingExperience designing motion control software for robotics or automated systemsExperience with C# development in multi-threaded environmentsTravelTravel is typically ≤10% (domestic & international), including regular trips between Aylesbury and Colchester depending on business needs, and occasional international travel to customer sites.BenefitsWe offer a flexible work schedule with a hybrid model, a comprehensive benefits package, and opportunities for growth and development.
