Our client, a leader in the technology sector, is currently seeking a skilled Data Modeler for a contract position. This role, based in the UK with occasional travel to London St. Paul's, involves full-time engagement from 12 January 2026 until 31 March 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
* Engage with business stakeholders to understand and translate their data requirements
* Design and implement dimensional models following the Kimball methodology
* Create conceptual, logical, and physical data models for Data Warehouse, Business Intelligence, and Lakehouse architectures
* Manage metadata, data lineage, and governance to ensure model consistency
* Optimise model performance and ensure thorough documentation
* Utilise tools such as MSFT Purview and Databricks Unity Catalog for data cataloguing and governance
* Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to integrate and validate models
* Maintain clear communication with stakeholders and manage their expectations
Job Requirements:
* Proven experience in data modeling with a strong understanding of dimensional modeling, star and snowflake schemas, and normalisation principles
* Experienced in stakeholder management and comfortable navigating ambiguous requirements
* Effective communication skills with the ability to engage and manage business stakeholders
* Familiarity with MSFT Purview and Databricks Unity Catalog is essential
* Proficiency in data modeling with Erwin is a plus
* Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
