An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Technical Paraplanner to join a highly regarded and growing Financial Planning team. This hybrid Technical Paraplanner role is ideal for a technically strong financial services professional looking to work within a collaborative environment supporting advisers on complex financial planning cases and delivering exceptional client outcomes.
The successful Technical Paraplanner will play a key role in supporting Financial Planners with technical research, suitability reports, client presentations, and high-quality financial planning support across a broad range of advice areas. Key Responsibilities
Technical Paraplanning & Financial Planning Support
* Produce comprehensive suitability reports and financial planning documentation across pensions, investments, protection, and retirement planning
* Draft detailed technical reports and client presentations, clearly communicating complex financial planning strategies
* Support Financial Planners with both new and existing client relationships
* Conduct technical research and analysis to support advice recommendations and planning solutions
* Assist with pre-retirement and post-retirement financial planning cases
* Provide technical paraplanning support for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals
Client & Team Collaboration
* Liaise directly with clients to gather information and support ongoing financial planning requirements
* Work closely with Financial Advisers, Administrators, and the wider Financial Planning team to ensure efficient client servicing
* Maintain accurate client records and ensure compliance with internal processes and regulatory requirements
* Support the delivery of high-quality client outcomes through strong technical accuracy and attention to detail
Systems & Technical Tools
* Utilise financial planning and paraplanning systems including Microdecisions, Analytics, Voyant, and CashCalc
* Conduct cashflow modelling and technical analysis to support client recommendations
* Contribute to process improvements and best practice within the paraplanning function
Skills & Experience
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience within Financial Services in a Technical Paraplanner or Paraplanning role
* Full Diploma in Financial Planning essential
* Progression towards Advanced Diploma or Chartered status highly desirable
* Strong technical knowledge across pensions, investments, protection, and retirement planning
* Experience supporting Financial Advisers with complex client cases and technical financial planning work
* Excellent report writing and technical documentation skills
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the confidence to liaise directly with clients
* Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and analytical ability
* Experience using financial planning systems such as Voyant, CashCalc, Analytics, and Microdecisions preferred
