Finance Assistant (6-Month FTC) Location: Edinburgh (Hybrid - 2 days in office per week) Salary: £27,000-£29,000 per annum
About the Role We're seeking a proactive and detail-driven Finance Assistant to join our team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This role is ideal for someone with strong transactional finance experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and supporting a busy finance function. You'll play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day processes.
Key Responsibilities
Manage Accounts Payable, including processing invoices, supplier queries, and payment runs
Oversee Accounts Receivable, raising invoices, allocating payments, and following up on outstanding balances
Maintain and reconcile the cash book, ensuring accuracy and timely updates
Assist with preparing and submitting VAT returns
Support month-end processes, including reconciliations and reporting
Provide general finance administration and support as required
About You
Experience in a similar Finance or Accounts Assistant role
Strong understanding of AP, AR and cashbook management (happy to train on VAT)
Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
Confident using finance systems and Excel
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
Organised, reliable, and able to manage deadlines effectively
