We are currently seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial administration, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently. Principle Objectives and Responsibilities

* To observe proper standards of market conduct
* To supervise or carry out the accounts, processing money and credit control function of insurance for ensuring fair treatment of our clients.
* Work strictly within the limits afforded to SJL by insurers and finance providers
* To actively contact clients and brokers to ensure policies are paid for within the limits of the credit terms
* Make credit control decisions and recommendations
* To process money compliantly
* To attend meetings with clients, brokers, insurers and finance providers where needed
* To ensure that all communications with brokers, insurers and clients are accurately recorded as per the Firm’s Procedures Manual.
* To develop ongoing, mutually beneficial relationships with Brokers, Clients, Introducers and Insurers
* Adhere to all company policies as detailed in the company handbook
* Embrace and use Broker Assess for all CPD, ensuring you meet minimum standards as laid out by the firm
* Respond in a timely manner to all client queries and ensure that communications with the customer and/or insurers, or other relevant business contacts are recorded and uploaded on to the firms back office recording system
* To assist clients in processing Direct Debits compliantly and within appropriate time scales
Skills Required
* Confident telephone manner
* Friendly but firm approach when discussing settling accounts with clients and brokers
* Ability to prioritise and organise own workload to ensure that deadlines are adhered to
* Ability to construct effective written communications, including letters, emails and reports
* Ability to liaise confidently and effectively via the telephone, in writing and face to face
* Able to manage time effectively
* Knowledge and understanding of a wide range of insurance contracts including current market conditions
* Knowledge and understanding of FCA rules and guidelines as well as GDPR & IDD.
* Knowledge and understanding of the firms IT system and use of its computer quotation engines
* Willingness to continue to learn and develop
* Awareness of financial vulnerabilities and ability to seek the best outcome within FCA rules and company guidelines
* Ability to work & communicate effectively within a team and wider company
