Role Overview
Our Adoption Panel Members play a very important role at PACT by carefully considering applications from those wishing to become adoptive parents. We are currently seeking independent Adoption Panel Members with a sound understanding of the adoption process from either professional or personal experience to ensure our panel makes fair, informed recommendation outcomes to a high quality standard.
Key Responsibilities
* Attend Adoption Panels for approximately 4 to 6 days per year, with additional days as required.
* Attend 2 training sessions per year and cover associated travel expenses.
* Evaluate applications and provide recommendations, ensuring confidentiality and fairness.
Qualifications
* Independent Adoption Panel Member experience or equivalent knowledge of the adoption process.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, efficient time management, and commitment to confidentiality.
* Willingness to increase knowledge and understanding of adoption through reading, discussion and training.
* Aware of the richness of different kinds of families and can bring diverse experience, knowledge and perspectives to the panel.
Remuneration & Benefits
Payment rate of £200 per panel, plus reasonable travel and other expenses incurred. Travel expenses for training sessions will also be covered.
