This highly visible role will suit someone with a track record of development in financial positions looking for an opportunity to improve and scale financial, accounting and IT systems as a business grows. The ideal candidate must be an effective communicator, ideally with experience of commercial and contractual issues in a manufacturing business, cash management and margin improvement. This will undoubtedly be an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, energetic candidate with the drive to modernise and improve a finance department.
Key responsibilities: -Managing a small finance team and developing a culture of accountability and excellence -Preparing accurate monthly, quarterly and annual reporting to divisions / group -Divisional point of contact for external auditors -Lead annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts for the divisions -Provide variance analysis with insight into operational and financial drivers -Support division with financial modelling to inform/influence business decisions -Manage product costing, overhead absorption, BOM analysis and margin reporting -Partner with operations to improve cost efficiency, labour efficiency and inventory control -Monitor and manage divisional cash flows, credit control and supplier payments through 13 week rolling cash flow forecasting -Drive improvements in working capital, including inventory, receivables and payables -Maintain and improve finance system (Business Central) -Strengthen internal controls, procedures and divisional reporting -Drive continuous improvement in financial processes
Candidate criteria & experience required: -Strong academic background and fully CIMA / ACCA or ACA qualified -Experienced of manufacturing highly desirable with strong commercial acumen -Able to work independently and/or as part of team to resolve issues -Able to implement process and reporting improvements -Robust personality to express views and constructively challenge -Excellent written and verbal communication skills -Able to explain technical issues and potential solutions to stakeholders from a non-Finance background
You will be joining an established finance team and will get regular exposure to the CFO and group leadership / divisional MDs. This role will involve participation in operational and sales meetings presenting and discussing financial data to drive performance and profitability.
