Expanding service which covers 08-2000hr scanning 7 days per week
A particular focus of this role will include leading on protocol development and management, and image quality. Someone who is passionate about image optimisation.
Someone who can work extended days and weekends.
We are looking for an experienced MR radiographer looking for a new challenge, to support service managers. A great role model to support, to develop the MR team and services provided. To inspire our fabulous team
Expectations are to work between the CDC and WSHFT. Clinical time will be protected especially as this post will involve reviewing protocols ensuring standardisation across sites.
We are fortunate to be able to offer post graduate opportunities for Radiographers.

Main duties of the job
This role will be to support MRI Service Manager with regards to protocols and image quality management to provide the best imaging services for our patients. This role will involve:
* Liaising with MRI Service Manager and Radiologists with regards to implementation of new scanning protocols, or changes to current protocols
* Ensuring protocols are in line with Regional Practice and National Guidelines
* Ensuring proper documentation/management of protocol both electronically and written where required
* Ensuring staff are kept abreast of protocol changes and to assist with any training requirements for new or changing protocols
* Ensuring systems of feedback to staff with regard to areas of good scanning practice and areas for improvement
* Implementing processes to maintain consistent image quality
* Auditing and reviewing Image quality for new and existing protocols to ensure quality is optimised
* Working along side radiologist colleagues and applications specialists to resolve any image quality concerns

Person Specification
Education & Qualification
* oBSc/DCR Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent
* oValid HCPC registration
* oLeadership qualification or equivalent experience
* oComprehensive, up to date CPD portfolio related to advances in MRI
Experience & Knowledge
* oSignificant clinical experience as a senior radiographer in MRI
* oEvidence of team leadership and management skills
* oUnderstanding of the current challenges within the MRI service
* oKnowledge of booking and capacity planning
* oUnderstanding of the full range of work procedures and practices requiring expertise within the specialism of MRI imaging
* oSound understanding of MR physics and image optimisation
* oPost graduate qualification or equivalent (intermediate/advanced) course in MRI
* oFormal Management and/or Leadership qualification
* oExperience of change management
* oExperience and understanding of the Quality Standard in Imaging and associated processes
