About the role You’ll work from a mix of home, office, and community locations. Most weeks, you’ll spend 1–2 days in our Bodmin office with time on-site and in residents’ homes. As a Building Surveyor, you will: Deliver a responsive, right-first-time repairs and maintenance service across our housing stock. Diagnose building defects, prepare technical reports and ensure remedial works are completed to high standards. Work across responsive repairs, voids, capital investment and compliance teams to ensure a joined-up and efficient service. Lead inspections, manage contractor performance, monitor budgets, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and statutory requirements. Proactively manage complaints, ensuring professional communication, thorough resolution, and compliance with the Housing Ombudsman’s Code. About you To be successful, you’ll be/have: Strong experience in building surveying – ideally within social housing or a similar environment A successful track record managing repair projects from inception to completion Knowledge of Schedule of Rates, building safety legislation, and value for money practices First-rate customer care skills, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly A flexible, collaborative, and solution-focused mindset A Level 4 qualification in Building Surveying (HNC/HND) and membership of RICS or CIOB is desirable but not essential This is a mobile role, so a full UK driving licence and the ability to travel across Cornwall is essential.
