We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Band 5 Radiographer to join our patient‑centred team of friendly Radiology staff at Royal Glamorgan Hospital.
Royal Glamorgan Hospital has a major accident and emergency unit and is a regional diagnostic hub with a significant role in early diagnostics and ambulatory care. The department includes general radiography rooms, CT and MRI scanners, ultrasound, mammography, nuclear medicine and interventional departments.
Responsibilities
* Work in all aspects of general radiography including X‑ray, fluoroscopy, theatre and mobile units, and dental imaging.
* Perform non‑contrast CT studies.
* Provide hot reporting for GP chest X‑rays as part of the single cancer pathway.
* Adopt Radiology guidelines and operating procedures without direct supervision, reporting to a senior or superintendent radiographer.
* Work the Radiology Directorate shift system: 12‑hour day and night shifts and 7.5‑hour shifts.
* Rotate between Royal Glamorgan Hospital, satellite site Ysbyty Cwm Rhondda and other sites within Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.
Qualifications
* BSc (Hon) or DCR (R) in Diagnostic Radiography.
* Current HCPC registration at the start date.
* Completion of the three‑month preceptorship programme for newly qualified Band 5 radiographers.
Skills & Knowledge
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Clinical experience in general radiography, CT, MRI, ultrasound, mammography or nuclear medicine.
* Welsh language speaking/listening at Level 3 or above is desirable.
Experience
* Previous experience in a similar radiography setting, preferably at Band 5 level.
