Role: Process Quality Engineer

Role
We are seeking a skilled Process Quality Engineer that is confident, has a strong quality background and has previous experience in a product launch & development environment. This role will focus on the development of inspection plans, as well as review & optimization of inspection methods to assist the team meeting deliverables while supplying aerospace components that meet stringent quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
o Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements to verify product conformity.
o Coordinates preparation of appropriate documentation (including inspection plans, procedures & reports) for assigned projects.
o Reviews & recommends modifications to procedures.
o Owning & resolving complex technical issues.
o Effectively participate in Engineering Design Reviews and provide Quality related inputs such as feasibility of inspection, producibility, etc.
o Liaises with specialist departments to ensure the effective operation and production of new / revised products.
o Collaborate with production and engineering teams by providing clear and concise results, assist in resolving quality issues and improving processes.
o To aid Engineering in inspections / investigations of problems within Moog Fabrication and on the Development of new product
o To work with Operations highlighting specific Manufacturing / Fabrication & Quality issues that prevent delivery to customer requirements.
o Supporting the design of process for inspection equipment & fixturing.
o Working with the APQP lead to support relevant activities.
A successful candidate will:
o Have experience in quality environment within the aerospace or automotive sector.
o HNC or equivalent in Engineering, or significant experience within an aerospace quality environment.
o Be proficient in reading and understanding Engineering drawings.
o Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
o Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
o Have extensive knowledge of manual inspection tools (micrometers, verniers, height gauges, wax impressions) and automated inspection systems (CMM, vision systems).
o Experience with general drafting & modelling practices, ASME Y 14.5 or latest.
