The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a high-performing research team based in Cambridge, UK.
As a Scientist I, you will be reporting directly to the Head of Cancer Biology. This position plays a vital role in advancing the company’s early-stage drug discovery pipeline through high-quality bench research and the execution of both in vitro and in vivo assays.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct in vitro and/or in vivo studies that support the progression of early-stage drug discovery projects.
* Design, develop, and execute a broad range of assays and pharmacological models, with a focus on novel targets and drug candidates.
* Interpret experimental data, perform statistical analysis, and communicate findings clearly within internal project meetings and reports.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date experimental records and ensure the scientific integrity of all data generated.
* Collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to align on program goals and study designs.
Essential Knowledge & Experience
* Strong knowledge of drug discovery processes, particularly in non-clinical research settings.
* Proficiency in mammalian cell culture and tissue handling techniques.
* Solid background in molecular biology, including experience with DNA, RNA, and protein-based methodologies.
* Demonstrated ability to design and perform in vitro and/or in vivo assays with high scientific rigor.
* Hands-on experience in assay development, especially for novel targets or therapeutic modalities.
Preferred Experience
* Demonstrated ability to handle complex datasets and translate them into actionable insights.
* Experience in the development and validation of non-clinical pharmacological models.
Education
* MS degree, PhD degree or equivalent.
Additional Information
* This is a permanent full-time position.
* Position is based in Cambridge, UK.
* This position will require on-site work, as you will be working in a laboratory setting, with state-of-the-art equipment.
* Occasional travel may be required for collaboration with external partners or attendance at scientific meetings.
