Job Description
* We require a roller shutter service engineer assistant to assist our lead service engineer to service 3 phase and single phase roller shutter doors, fire rated shutter doors, rapid roll doors, sectional doors and industrial insulated doors, personnel/steel, fire exit doors.
Responsibilities and Duties
* The role will focus on a range of projects predominately across the Northwest. The work base is in Bickerstaffe.
* Most jobs will require a 2 man team whilst others will demand self discipline on a solo basis.
* The work will focus on the servicing and maintenance of Industrial Roller Shutter Doors in commercial, industrial buildings, as well as some residential properties.
* To gain knowledge from lead service engineer
* To assist the service engineer to test and diagnose malfunctioning control systems, apparatus, and components, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem
* Fastening of components/accessories to varying building fabrics, using correct fixings
* Inspect systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes of practice. Ensure the customer is always given demonstration after repairs and installations completed.
* Attention to detail and able to complete job sheets, and get them signed and dated, and pass certifications
* Liaise and assist the lead service engineer to ensure correct materials loaded for specific jobs
* Check stock levels on the van daily
* Ensure all shutters are badged up
* Follow Roller Shutter Services Ltd Health and Safety Policies and Procedures, Working from ladders, scaffolds, Mechanical Walking Platforms (Scissor lifts) ·
* Other duties as and when required
Qualifications and skills
Essential:
* Good communication skills are necessary and good customer service skills
* Attention to detail and able to complete job sheets and pass certifications
* Full UK driving license
Desirable (Although training is available):
* Scissor lift license /PASMA/IPAF
* CSCS
Hours of work:
* Hours of work are 8am to 4.30pm, 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday with a 30-minute lunch break - 40 hour working week. Although you should have a flexible approach and be prepared to work overtime, as and when required.
* 21 days holiday (plus paid bank holidays).
