Job Description:
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across various clinical and non-clinical roles. We provide acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million, expanding to 2.2 million with regional and national services.
This is a permanent, full-time position with a rotational shift pattern, including long days from 07:00 to 19:30 and night shifts from 19:00 to 07:30, on a cycle of three weeks of three shifts and one week of four shifts every eight weeks. Further reduction in hours is planned for 2026.
You will provide care to patients with a wide range of mental health conditions across three sites: Dykebar Hospital, Royal Alexandra Hospital, and Leverndale Hospital. The initial base will be at one site, with the possibility of rotation. Applicants must be able to work at any of these sites.
The role involves caring for adults and older adults within a multidisciplinary team. Candidates should have relevant experience in a healthcare environment and knowledge of mental health conditions. The position requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland checks.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential. You should be capable of working collaboratively within a team and supporting assigned tasks involving direct and indirect patient care, adhering to standards set by senior nursing staff.
