Job Overview
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Senior Radiographer to join our Diagnostic Imaging team. The post is primarily based at Falmouth Community Hospital with rotation to Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro, and other community sites as required. The role delivers a safe, efficient, high‑quality general radiography service, supporting patient care across acute and community settings.
Main duties of the job
* Undertake a wide range of general X‑ray examinations
* Justify radiology referrals in line with IR(ME)R and NICE guidelines
* Ensure compliance with radiation protection and safety standards
* Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team
* Support and supervise students, assistant practitioners, and junior staff
* Contribute to clinical governance, audit, and service development
* Assist with maintenance and basic troubleshooting of imaging equipment
Rotation across multiple sites is required. Applicants must hold a full driving licence and have access to their own transport.

Qualifications
* Diploma of the College of Radiographers or BSc (Hons)
* Evidence of ongoing CPD
* Post Graduate Experience
Experience
* Minimum 2 years in an acute NHS environment
* Experience across multiple clinical settings
* Experience in clinical governance/audit
* Trauma and emergency imaging
Practical & Intellectual Skills
* Knowledge of IRR17 and IR(ME)R 2024
* Autonomous working with clinical accountability
* Ability to prioritise own workload and work under pressure
* Excellent IT skills necessary to use specialist imaging equipment
* Ability to carry out audit and contribute to clinical governance
* Motivated and confident
* Accurate written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to communicate clinical information to patients and clinicians
* Caring and professional attitude
* Flexibility and ability to take part in shifts including out‑of‑hours, weekends, and bank holidays
