The role & what you take care of:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Health and Safety Coordinator who takes initiative and plays a key role in driving the health, safety, and wellbeing culture at Magna. The ideal candidate will be persistent, tenacious, and collaborative, championing change to inspire colleagues across all levels of the organisation. Your people-centric approach, informed by data and comprehensive analysis, combined with curiosity and active participation in projects, will ensure that colleague welfare remains at the forefront of decisions, ultimately improving health and safety outcomes. You will actively support company-wide safety initiatives, promote campaigns, and engage stakeholders to help create a safer, healthier workplace.
* Offer up-to-date safety advice, guidance, and support to the business, ensuring compliance with HSE legislation by maintaining and implementing occupational health and safety policies, and providing expertise on critical risks such as working at height, power tools, lone working, and office safety.
* Coordinate risk assessments for colleague activities, supporting teams and managers in gathering necessary information, identifying hazards, and implementing suitable control measures, while actively participating in reviews to keep risk assessments current and accurate.
* Maintain detailed records of incidents and accidents, assist with investigations and root cause analysis, using findings to identify trends, recommend improvements, and enhance wellbeing and operational effectiveness.
* Assist and support safety culture initiatives with Briefings, Toolbox talks, and training, while working collaboratively with internal and external partners to help enhance Magna’s safety management systems and digital reporting tools. A comprehensive Role Profile is attached to this advert.
What you need to be successful:
* Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation, with a proven track record in the sector, including practical experience in conducting risk assessments and safety audits.
* Great collaboration and communication skills to implement safety processes and policies, using clear communication and influencing abilities to share information and best practices for achieving both individual and team objectives.
* Adept at managing multiple priorities, showing persistence and determination to drive positive change while overcoming resistance, dedicated to promoting a culture of safety.
