Overview
Join to apply for the Arts or Creative Therapist role at NSFT Jobs. The post is within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) in Great Yarmouth and Waveney. Arts and Creative Therapies have been an integral part of the CAMHS Team for many years. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing assessment and treatment to young people who are experiencing mental health difficulties. The team are based at Northgate Hospital in Great Yarmouth and Meridian House in Lowestoft, with some flexibility around hybrid working.
Responsibilities
* Undertaking assessments of suitability for their area of therapy
* Working individually with young people
* Group work or parent–child work related to their therapy (i.e. filial therapy, CPRT, etc.)
* Providing engagement and psychoeducation work with young people and their families where needed
* Liaising with external agencies, such as Children's Services and schools
* Understanding and being able to manage risk whilst working with young people who are experiencing suicidal ideation or self-harm
* Recognising safeguarding issues and acting on these appropriately
Qualifications
* Master's Degree in Art Therapy, Dance Movement Psychotherapy, Drama Therapy, Music Therapy, or Play Therapy (or a Postgraduate Diploma with significant post-qualifying experience working with complex young people/in mental health settings)
* HCPC registration or be on a Professional Standards Authority approved register (e.g. BAPT, ADMP, PTUK, BACP)
Requirements and Skills
* Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Ability to work across locations with some hybrid working
