Occupational Therapist – Band 6
Full and part‑time hours available.
Main duties
* Provide day‑to‑day Occupational Therapy interventions to patients in homes, clinics, community or virtual settings across Bromley, Bexley and Greenwich.
* Assess patients using virtual or face‑to‑face methods and make autonomous clinical decisions for complex health and social care needs.
* Develop goal‑oriented programmes with patients, families and other professionals; plan and implement evidence‑based rehabilitation programmes.
* Coordinate with other health‑care professionals, make referrals and recommendations to reduce disability impact.
* Participate in health promotion, education and provide advice to clients and carers.
* Formulate and evaluate individualized management/treatment plans, using a wide range of therapeutic skills and options.
* Monitor patient health and medical status; report any change to the MDT.
* Attend MDT meetings to present patients and discuss recommendations.
* Manage an autonomous caseload, including highly complex presentations.
* Delegate clinical work to a Therapy Assistant where appropriate.
Qualifications
* BSc/MSc in Occupational Therapy.
* Postgraduate MSc in a relevant field.
Professional registration
* Current HCPC registration.
* Member of RCOT.
Training
* Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
* Practice Educator training.
* Evidence of MSc‑level study.
Skills
* Knowledge of symptoms seen in post‑viral illnesses and multi‑symptom pathologies.
* Car driver licence valid for the UK and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
* Capability to motivate patients with impaired cognitive or physical ability.
* Proficiency with electronic patient record systems.
* Knowledge of Post Covid national guidance.
* Experience leading group interventions.
Experience
* Post‑graduate experience relevant to the service.
* Experience managing own caseload and delegating.
* Experience working in the community.
* Understanding of multi‑professional care planning.
