Responsibilities:
Project Ownership & Delivery:
Take full responsibility for the delivery of assigned engineering and fabrication projects from handover to completion.
Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the required quality standards.
Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, and resource requirements.
Customer Liaison & Satisfaction:
Act as the main point of contact for allocated customers, ensuring clear and consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Attend customer meetings, site visits, and project reviews where required.
Ensure customer requirements are fully understood, communicated, and met or exceeded.
Shop Floor Coordination:
Oversee all aspects of project execution on the shop floor, including fabrication, welding, and assembly.
Liaise with production supervisors, team leaders, and operatives to ensure smooth workflow and efficient use of resources.
Proactively identify and resolve shop floor issues that could impact delivery or quality.
Technical & Engineering Support:
Interpret technical drawings, customer specifications, and engineering documentation.
Provide clear technical guidance to production teams to ensure accurate manufacturing.
Coordinate with design and CAD teams to address engineering changes or issues.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Essential:
Proven engineering and fabrication knowledge/experience/background
Ability to read and work from detailed engineering drawings
Computer literate
Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise closely with customers
Ability to work under pressure, both on own initiative and as part of a busy team
Ability to handle multiple varied projects from order through to completion
Responsible, conscientious, punctual, highly organized, and self-motivated
Desirable:
Excellent knowledge of all welding techniques
CAD qualifications and experience are preferable but not essential for this role, training will be provided where necessary.
