The Head of Electrical Design will lead the Electrical function, ensuring high-quality, timely delivery and setting standards for how engineering is practiced across the business. This role drives excellence in design, integration, and collaboration, fostering a culture of precision, ownership, and innovation.
Responsibilities will include:
* Define, maintain, and improve Electrical engineering standards and practices.
* Lead design reviews and assurance activities, ensuring early issue detection and continuous improvement.
* Provide context and alignment between Electrical work, project goals, and broader business objectives.
* Represent Electrical Engineering in cross-functional forums, trade shows, and customer interactions.
* Promote effective communication across disciplines to manage risks and dependencies.
* Oversee Electrical systems from requirements through design, build, commissioning, and trials.
* Contribute to planning and resourcing to ensure efficient program delivery.
* Build and lead a high-performing Electrical Engineering team through recruitment, development, and retention.
* Provide technical assurance for system architecture across platforms.
* Maintain safety frameworks for test, commissioning, and trials environments.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Proven leadership of Electrical engineering teams in complex, multidisciplinary settings.
* Strong Electrical design background with a record of delivering integrated, high-quality solutions.
* Skilled in setting and maintaining engineering standards and assurance processes.
* Excellent communicator, able to contextualize technical work and drive cross-functional collaboration.
* Knowledge of DC HaV systems, CAN Bus, and EtherCAT advantageous.
