Commercial Operations Manager – Partners & Emerging Markets (2-Year Fixed-Term Contract)

Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and collaborative Commercial Operations Manager to join our Partners & Emerging Markets (P&EM) team on a 2-year fixed-term contract. This position plays a key role in supporting the operational and commercial excellence agenda across the region, including launch excellence, business analytics, global expansion, and commercial training, while also providing executive support to the SVP, Partners & Emerging Markets and the broader regional leadership team. The role is hybrid, requiring presence two days per week in our office in Amsterdam, The Netherlands or Maidenhead, UK, with the remainder of the time working remotely.
Key Responsibilities
Administration and Business Information Analytics
* Provide executive support to the Head of Partner Markets and coordinate administrative and operational priorities for the P&EM extended leadership team.
* Partner with the Commercial Operations Lead to manage biweekly leadership meetings, define agendas and priorities, prepare documentation, and track actions.
* Support the P&EM team, particularly the Europe and MART clusters, including purchase order management, record keeping of contracts and legal documents, and collaboration with Legal, Finance, HR, and other functions.
* Support partner contractual governance processes, including scheduling and coordination of internal and external meetings, documentation management, and meeting minutes.
* Manage and maintain the Partner Portal, including performance tracking, reporting, and the creation of dashboards to monitor partner and geographic performance, with quarterly updates for P&EM leadership.
* Lead or support regional projects as defined by the SVP, Partners & Emerging Markets.
Launch Excellence
* Support the Commercial Operations Lead and broader team in launch project management activities.
* Develop and maintain workflow tools, dashboards, and reports to enable visibility and efficiency across launch excellence initiatives.
Commercial Training
* Provide operational support for partner and affiliate commercial training, ensuring governance and accuracy of the regional E-Learning Platform.
* Maintain training user lists, assign content according to the P&EM Training Plan, and support quarterly training meetings and learning strategy implementation in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Events and Congresses
* Coordinate Alnylam’s participation in congresses and symposia, including budgeting, logistics, and collaboration with Marketing and Medical teams.
* Support organization and execution of internal and partner meetings (e.g., P&EM All Hands, Annual Partners Meeting), including planning, agendas, and logistics.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Finance, or a related field.
* MBA or Project Management Certification (PMP, PRINCE2) is a plus.
* 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare industries, ideally in commercial operations, business administration, or partner management roles.
* Strong understanding of pharmaceutical governance, compliance, and contracting processes, aligned with FDA, EMA, MHRA, and GDPR standards.
* Proven experience managing partner governance processes, distribution models, and commercial performance tracking tools (e.g., Partner Portals, dashboards).
* Familiarity with regulatory documentation, invoicing, and purchase order management in a highly compliant environment.
* Strong project management and analytical skills, with experience supporting product launches, tracking KPIs, and improving operational efficiency.
* Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills across functions and geographies.
