Together Women is looking for an outstanding
Director of Services
to join our
Senior Leadership Team
and play a central role in leading
Together Women's
delivery teams across
Yorkshire, Humberside and the wider North of England
region.

This is a senior role with responsibility for ensuring we deliver high-quality, gender-specific, trauma-informed services, which are safe and sustainable, and that meet the needs of the women we support and empower them to achieve positive outcomes.

As Director of Services, you will provide oversight of our portfolio of contracts and services, working closely with commissioners and funders to ensure we meet our obligations and expectations.

You will lead a team of managers, providing them with the strategic leadership, guidance, and support they need to effectively motivate and manage their service delivery teams to meet their targets and KPIs, and deliver their work in line with our core values and ethical framework.

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will work alongside the CEO, Chief Finance Officer, Director of Development, our Board of Trustees and our wider management team to contribute to the organisation's strategic direction, and represent Together Women at a regional and national level, and champion our mission and drive for systemic change.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Line Management

· Provide strategic leadership to our service delivery teams, ensuring they are well supported to deliver high-quality services across Yorkshire and Humberside.

· Inspire, coach, and empower senior managers, building a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.

· Champion a strong, supportive, and transparent organisational culture that is trauma-informed, inclusive, and aligned to Together Women's values.

Contract and Service Oversight

· Provide oversight of all operational contracts, ensuring delivery is consistently high quality, compliant, and responsive to commissioner requirements.

· Represent Together Women at contract review meetings and maintain excellent relationships with commissioners and funders.

· Lead on contract monitoring, reporting, and quality assurance processes, driving continuous improvement and accountability.

Partnerships and Influence

· Build and sustain strong partnerships with statutory partners including probation, courts, health, police, charity sector and local authorities.

· Act as an ambassador for Together Women, representing the organisation on strategic boards, in networks, and at regional and national events.

· Work with the CEO, Trustees, and sector colleagues to influence wider policy and practice, ensuring the needs of women and girls remain central to justice reform and community services.

Strategy and Development:

· Contribute to the organisation's long-term strategic vision, ensuring Together Women's services remain responsive to changing needs and policy landscapes.

· Horizon-scan for emerging trends, risks, and opportunities across the criminal justice and women's sectors, using these insights to inform organisational priorities.

· Shape the development of new service models and partnerships that extend Together Women's reach and impact.

· Work closely with commissioners, partners, and communities to co-design services, embedding lived experience and local voice in planning and delivery.

· Support the diversification of income by identifying opportunities for growth, collaboration, and sustainable funding.

Quality, Data and Impact

· Ensure robust safeguarding, governance, and quality assurance frameworks are embedded across all services.

· Oversee the use of data and insight to measure impact, inform strategic decisions, and influence commissioners and funders.

· Champion an evidence-based approach to service design and delivery, using insight to strengthen early intervention and demonstrate the value of women-centred services.

Financial Accountability

· Hold responsibility for operational budgets, ensuring resources are managed effectively and with full accountability for income and expenditure.

· Balance financial sustainability with service quality, demonstrating value for money to commissioners and funders.

Qualifications

Essential

· Substantial experience in leading operational services within the charity or public sector.

· Proven track record of managing senior staff, budgets, and complex service delivery models.

· Experience leading high-performing, inclusive teams and driving positive cultural change.

· Strong experience of building and maintaining relationships with commissioners, funders, and statutory partners.

· Skilled in navigating conflict, building consensus, and influencing a wide range of stakeholders.

· Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

· Evidence of using data driven decision making and delivering improvements in performance, quality, and outcomes.

· Significant understanding of safeguarding best practice.

· Strong understanding of financial management and accountability.

· Commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, feminism, and social justice.

Desirable

· Knowledge of the criminal justice system and the challenges faced by women at risk of, or in contact with the criminal justice system.

Other Requirements:

· Proficient in the use of IT and office systems.

· Willingness to travel across the region and occasionally nationally.

· Flexibility to work occasional evenings as required.

· Commitment to anti-racism, feminism, social justice, and abolitionist values.

· Lived experience of the criminal justice system is welcomed and will not necessarily preclude appointment.
