Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust provides child and adult mental health services, learning disability, wellbeing, older people's and eating disorder services across Norfolk and Suffolk.
We are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and want to reflect the diversity of our local communities within our teams. We welcome applications from all talented individuals with the relevant qualifications, skills, knowledge and experience.
Job overview
Norfolk and Waveney Talking Therapies is currently seeking a suitably qualified senior practitioner to join our growing clinical team. We are interested in hearing from suitably qualified practitioner psychologists and/or CBT therapists, with experience of demonstrable clinical leadership.
Norfolk and Waveney Talking Therapies has recently been re-commissioned and performance against many national metrics is strong. As part of our commitment to quality, we have recently achieved APPTS accreditation with the Royal College of Psychiatrists. We have a formal partnership with East London Foundation Trust, including an expert reference group, to share expertise and guide senior practitioners in their roles. There are already specialisms in long term conditions and peri-natal, and we are also seeking to enhance our trauma provision in line with commissioning requirements.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will take the lead for developing our older adults’ provision, with a specific focus on rural coastal mental health. The service is committed to meeting the needs of this overlooked population. The post holder will work with the director of psychology and colleagues, to both integrate the existing primary care offering with other Trust services for older people and carers and to develop innovation that enhances the pathway. There will also be an opportunity to work strategically within our NSFT older adults’ collaborative. Additionally, there may also be a secondary role leading the development of our digital clinical offering with this client group, including the integration of AI into clinical practice, or with responsibility for an agreed roving portfolio.
Although we are seeking, ideally, an experienced CBT therapist or BABCP-accredited clinical psychologist, we will also consider applications from newly qualified practitioner psychologists, who are committed to a BABCP pathway to accreditation as a CBT therapist as part of their preceptorship. Applicants will also be expected to develop their supervision skills as a priority. Such appointments will be made at AfC Band 7, with an 8a grade achieved on successful completion of preceptorship. Candidates should have a passion for research and for innovation around using digital approaches and AI to improve therapy adherence, quality and impact of therapy, as well as quality of supervision.
Working for our organisation
Here at NSFT we pride ourselves on being a welcoming, talented, friendly and supportive team who like nothing better than sharing experiences and learning from each other. Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Visible clinical leadership with a large, county-wide workforce is essential for this full- time role. While an element of hybrid working is possible, this is not a remote position and the successful applicant will be required to conduct some activity across service delivery sites.
