We are seeking a committed and proactive Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead to join our team. This is a vital role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all students within our care.
Start date: To be agreed with successful candidate.
Full-time preferred, but part-time will be considered.
Responsibilities
* To undertake activities as part of the safeguarding team including managing safeguarding referrals regarding students.
* To complete relevant paperwork and update safeguarding systems.
* To attend safeguarding meetings for students.
* To attend relevant training and events.
* To undertake home visits for vulnerable students absent from school.
* To liaise with parents and carers of students regarding safeguarding.
* Communicate with external professionals or agencies regarding safeguarding issues including making referrals where appropriate.
* To provide support for students, as appropriate.
* To liaise with staff to ensure the best outcomes for students.
* To collate and monitor safeguarding data.
* Understand the filtering and monitoring systems and processes in place in the school, including how to manage them effectively and escalating concerns when identified.
* Make sure that the filtering and monitoring systems and processes block harmful and inappropriate content without unreasonably impacting teaching and learning.
* To maintain high standards of ethics and behaviour and to uphold the Nolan Principles.
* To have responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and to ensure that the Academy’s Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy along with e-Safety Policies are adhered to.
* To adhere to the Code of Conduct which is provided annually.
* All employees are expected to work within the confines of the Data Protection Act and to take appropriate measures to ensure the security and confidentiality of data.
* To adhere to the Academy’s Health and Safety Policy.
School Term Time Role
Monday-Thursday 8.15am-5.00pm | Friday 8.15am-3.45pm. 200 days worked per year (190 term time days, plus 5 term time PD Days, plus 5 additional days in negotiation with the Line Manager)
