Depot Based Renewable Power Engineer – Castleford Depot
Salary: £38,000 starting salary (rising to £40,000 after 12-month training and sign-off)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 4:30pm (45 hours per week)
Holiday: 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays

The Opportunity
Jackson Hogg is delighted to be supporting our client in their search for a Depot Based Renewable Power Engineer to join their team at the Castleford depot. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer with an interest in renewable energy systems to develop their skills and progress within a growing business.
You’ll embark on a structured 12-month training programme designed to build your technical expertise across renewable power products and systems. Upon successful completion, you’ll progress to Renewable Power Technician, receive a salary increase to £40,000, and be provided with a company vehicle (van).
Training & Development Plan
0 – 3 Months:

Product familiarisation across all Renewable Power (RP) products
*
General probation period and performance assessment
*
Probation sign-off
3 – 6 Months:
*
Basic engine and generator training (Prolectric and generator partners)
*
Assessment of generator knowledge and understanding
6 – 12 Months:
*
Attend and pass JET7909 course
*
Advanced training on:
*
Prolectric – Solar Hybrid Generators
*
AJC – Solar Frames
*
Himoinsa – BSUs
*
Pramac – BSUs
*
IDE – Erica
*
Invisible Systems – Eco Lync
*
Final assessment and sign-off as RP Technician
Key Responsibilities
*
Carry out preventative maintenance, servicing, health checks, MPBA Electrical and Solar PV Testing (mandatory training provided).
*
Install and set up renewable power products on customer sites.
*
Complete site handovers and provide coaching to site teams on equipment operation and maintenance.
*
Conduct repairs and ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.
*
Decommission renewable products at the end of hire, including safe power disconnection, product breakdown, and battery management.
*
Work collaboratively with the Product Support team to ensure smooth installations and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
*
Strong mechanical and/or electrical aptitude.
*
Previous experience in power generation, renewable systems, or related engineering fields is desirable.
*
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
*
Full UK driving licence.
*
Willingness to learn and complete all required training modules.
