We are Member-led and provide opportunities for social connection, volunteering, training, education, and work. Role: Group Facilitator (Norwich Hub)
Location: Norwich Hub, Carrow House, 301 King Street, Norwich, NR1 2TG
Hours: Part-time, Monday/Wednesday/Friday, 9:00am – 4:00pm
Reports to: Founder Trustee
Contract: 12 month fixed term. Part-time – 19.5 hours a week
Salary: £13,182.00 (£26,364.00 F/T equivalent)
Role Description
The Group Facilitator will guide, manage, and deliver group activities at the Norwich Hub. The post holder will promote engagement, assist with conflict resolution, and support the achievement of group and individual objectives.
They will work collaboratively with Members, self-employed sessional workers, and volunteers to foster a safe, inclusive, and recovery-focused community in line with the Norfolk Clubhouse model, based upon the International Clubhouse Model of mental health - https://clubhouse-intl.org/what-we-do/what-clubhouses-do/
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, prepare, and implement group sessions and activities.
* Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all Members and workers.
* Facilitate group discussions to promote problem-solving, decision-making, and mutual support.
* Manage group dynamics constructively and handle conflicts sensitively.
* Encourage participation and collaboration across diverse Member groups.
* Provide constructive feedback and guidance to Members using a coaching approach.
* Monitor group progress, evaluate outcomes, and adapt sessions as required.
* Collect and maintain accurate records of sessions, attendance, and outcomes including photographs of the sessions with the express permission of Members/Workers.
* Collaborate with colleagues, volunteers, and the Founder Trustee to enhance group delivery.
* Strategically collaborate with Founder Trustee to co-ordinate and develop groups/hubs in Norwich, Watton and Norfolk.
* Uphold safeguarding, health and safety, and data protection requirements at all times.
* Stay up to date with facilitation methods, mental health awareness, and good practice.
* Publicise and promote the work of Norfolk Clubhouse in collaboration with the Founder Trustee and Members.
Person Specification
Essential to the Role
* Proven experience in group facilitation, coaching, teaching, training, or a similar role – 3-5 years.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
* Awareness and understanding of the Clubhouse model and recovery-oriented practice.
* Ability to think creatively on your feet and adapt approach to changing contexts.
* Strong skills in managing group dynamics and resolving conflict constructively.
* Knowledge and experience of group dynamics/facilitation techniques and methods.
* Experience in planning, delivering, and evaluating group activities.
* Ability to use a coaching approach to support and guide Members.
* Strong organisational skills, including time management and record-keeping.
* Empathy and understanding of the challenges faced by people with mental health difficulties.
* Ability to maintain professional boundaries and uphold safeguarding responsibilities.
* Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Desirable
* Degree or Professional Qualification in Social Work, Counselling, Psychotherapy, Coaching, Education, or related field.
* Life knowledge and lived experience of mental health issues.
* Experience of working within a community, voluntary, or mental health setting with Adults.
* Flexibility to adapt activities to meet the needs of diverse groups.
* Ability to travel to our Watton Hub if necessary.
* Be able to attend the occasional Saturday to support at planned Events.
