Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) Supervision Lead
Role Summary
We invite applications for the Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) Supervision Lead post in Paediatrics and Emergency Care at The Royal London Hospital, part of Barts Health NHS Trust. The successful candidate will lead the development, supervision and quality of the ACP programme within the Paediatric Emergency Department.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, influence and deliver an outstanding Advanced Clinical Practice service across the department.
* Implement the Barts Health ACP strategy and policy regarding supervision and training.
* Provide peer support and supervision for existing and trainee ACPs.
* Ensure trainees receive high‑quality supervision throughout their training programme.
* Ensure staff follow an accredited advanced practice programme with a partner university.
* Recognise and support registered health and care practitioners demonstrating capabilities per the advancing practice or consultant practitioner framework.
* Supervise existing ACPs in allied areas to enhance clinical skills and workflow.
Eligibility
The post is open to RCEM‑credentialled ACP‑level paediatric practitioners based in the emergency department on a full shift rota.
Essential Qualifications
* Registered healthcare professional.
* Master's level education in advanced practice.
* RCEM accreditation.
Desirable Qualifications
* Additional qualifications in a specialist area.
Essential Experience
* Teaching and assessing in clinical practice.
* Evidence of maintaining clinical expertise.
* Advanced practice experience in a relevant clinical area.
Desirable Experience
* Post‑graduate research training.
Essential Knowledge
* Highly specialised advanced clinical skills and knowledge.
* Active involvement in audit and research.
* Knowledge of national and local issues relevant to the specialty area.
* Up‑to‑date knowledge of policy and practice relevant to the specialty.
* Understanding of national and local policy relating to ACP.
Desirable Knowledge
* Influences national and local policy work.

Contract & Salary
Fixed‑term contract, 12 months, full‑time. Band 8b. Salary £72,921 to £83,362 per annum inc.
