Job Opportunity: Band 6 Night Coordinator
We are seeking to fill three vacant Unit Coordinator posts supporting different boroughs: two for St Helens and Knowsley, and one for Sefton, including Clockview Hospital and Hartley Hospital.
The role involves supporting the Mental Health Care Division to ensure inpatient areas are managed safely and effectively over 24 hours. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of care, providing support, supervision, and education to colleagues, professionals, and students.
Key responsibilities include managing acuity, capacity, and flow; responding to emergencies; liaising with teams and services such as Acute Trusts; offering clinical advice and leadership across wards in Sefton, St Helens, and Knowsley; communicating with family members and carers; supporting divisional managers and on-call staff; coordinating with other professionals and departments; documenting incidents; and ensuring safe medication administration in compliance with NMC regulations.
This position involves night shifts, with an expectation of flexibility and the ability to mobilize at short notice across the division to support other areas.
Mersey Care is one of the largest trusts providing physical and mental health services in the North West, serving over 1.4 million people and offering specialist inpatient and community services, including high secure mental health facilities. We are committed to 'perfect care'—safe, effective, timely, equitable, and efficient—and support staff development and service transformation.
Flexible working requests will be considered for all roles.
