HEAD OF MARKETING

Salary: £58,000–£68,000

Reports to: CEO (with strategic oversight/mentorship from Fractional CMO)

Location: Glasgow

Type: Full-time, Permanent

Purpose of the Role

Staffscanner and the wider operating group is entering an exciting scale-up phase and is on track to meet ambitious growth targets within the next 12–18 months. We are seeking a Head of Marketing to lead the marketing function and drive strategic direction.

This role owns the full marketing strategy and commercial performance of the function – ensuring brand, campaigns, content and channels deliver measurable impact. You will combine strategic leadership with the ability to coach and empower a small internal team (including a Marketing Manager) and external resources.

You'll work closely with the CEO, Senior Leadership Team and fractional CMO to ensure marketing directly supports growth, brand strength and operational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Leadership

You will define and own the annual marketing strategy, aligning plans to business objectives and revenue targets. This includes turning company goals into clear campaign frameworks, channel plans, budgets and KPIs. You will lead go-to-market activity for both care worker and client audiences, drive data-led forecasting and performance modelling, and act as the day-to-day brand ambassador to ensure the organisation consistently delivers on its brand promise.

Brand & Creative Direction

You will guide the evolution of the Staffscanner brand, overseeing storytelling, messaging and creative direction. You will approve major campaigns and key brand assets, ensuring all content and collateral are consistent, compelling and aligned to long-term brand positioning.

Performance Marketing & Digital Oversight

You will set the strategic direction for PPC, paid social, SEO, email and partnerships, building strong organic performance and brand reputation. You will oversee lead generation and funnel performance, using analytics and dashboards to ensure campaigns are efficient, measurable and continually improving.

Team & Agency Leadership

You will lead and mentor the marketing team, including the Marketing Manager, and manage relationships with creative, digital, PR and SEO agencies. You will ensure all partners deliver against clear briefs, timelines and ROI expectations, while driving strong collaboration with sales, operations, tech and HR.

Data, Insight & Reporting

You will own monthly reporting to the CEO and board, setting measurement frameworks across ROMI, MQLs, lifetime value metrics and brand performance. You will strengthen insight capability to guide future marketing decisions and investment.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

You will work closely with sales to improve lead quality and conversion, support product and tech on customer journey optimisation, and partner with HR on employer brand and internal brand alignment. Across all activity, you will ensure marketing consistently reinforces Staffscanner's purpose—Care Reimagined—and its core values.

Experience & Skills

* 8–12+ years' marketing experience in tech, healthcare, staffing or scale-ups.
* Proven leadership of multi-channel, commercially impactful marketing.
* Strong experience building or scaling a marketing function.
* Skilled in brand, digital, customer experience and data-driven marketing.
* Experience working with agencies and senior stakeholders.
* Strong analytic competence (HubSpot, GA4, CRM).
* Excellent communication, influencing and leadership abilities.

Behaviours & Traits

* Clearly aligned with Staffscanner brand values.
* Commercially minded, strategic, hands-on when needed.
* Collaborative, resilient, creative and data-curious.
* Emotionally intelligent and able to inspire, guide and influence.
* Deeply committed to the purpose of reimagining care.

Package & Benefits

* Private healthcare, private pension, death in service, birthday day off, additional leave accrual.
* Leadership of the full marketing function at a pivotal, high-growth stage.
* Strategic mentorship from a fractional CMO.
* Hybrid working with autonomy and flexibility.
