About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Support Worker to join our team at HMP Gartree, a Category B men’s Prison located in Leicestershire.
Hours and Salary
Hours: Monday – Friday; core office hours.
Salary: Full time; annual salary up to £29,723 per annum, depending on experience.
What you'll be doing
* Assist the mental health team in delivering immediate and ongoing care for patients referred to the mental health team.
* Support people to access care and treatment appropriately within the prison setting, working independently with lone working at times.
* Contribute to the positive and aspirational workings of the integrated mental health care team, ensuring that each and every patient is treated with care, respect and dignity.
* Provide assistance with delivery of mental healthcare needs within the Healthcare Department.
* Promote safe patient care.
* Develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery.
What we'll look for in you
* Previous experience as a mental health support worker.
* Ability to treat service users with respect and dignity at all times, adopting a culturally sensitive approach.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Good IT skills and IT literacy.
* Ability to work within a busy environment.
* Ability to work unsupervised while following policy and procedures.
