Temp Station are excited to announce we are currently looking for a Transport Manager to join our team and work alongside our existing transport department to manage our national fleet and maintain legal compliance. This position could be based from any of our office sites across the country however travel around our other offices (Manchester, Normanton, Tamworth & Barking) will be essential. This is a very exciting opportunity to work alongside an existing Transport Manager as well as our office staff as part of a team to manage our trucks nationally as well as logistical planning and performance reporting. As much as you will be required to work alongside our existing team and support us, the right candidate will show willingness to expand on what we have and bring a new outlook and some fresh ideas to the team. Please note, candidate must hold their Transport Managers certificate of Professional Competence and have a current UK Driving licence. Job duties include but are not limited to; - Knowledge of Transport especially trunking haulage - Knowledge of Transport Legislations - Geographical knowledge of England - Excellent time keeping - Ability to work on your own initiative, working to strict deadline / Under pressure (Example Planning of 6 week unit service to keep us compliant) - Work with suppliers and contractors to negotiate service and maintenance contracts - A flexible team-based approach - General awareness of health and safety - Track KPIs such as delivery performance, fuel consumption, and fleet utilization. - Work with all branches nationally - Strong focus on compliance, safety, and service delivery - Adaptable and proactive in problem-solving. The above is not an exhaustive list, the candidate we are looking for will come in willing to learn and adapt to Temp Stations specific needs. We are looking for someone that would be able to, as well as manage the fleet, jump in on recruitment for drivers as well as planning and other duties where needed and can work with our existing staff to ensure all areas are covered. This is a 360 role and the candidate will be expected to throw themselves into learning all avenues of TSL while also bringing their own ideas to the table.
