About The Role
At Salvation Army Homes, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive, high-quality housing services, support, and resettlement.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone interested in working occasional shifts or short-term periods in a mental health support setting.
Covering for absences of Mental Health Support Workers due to annual leave, vacancies, training, sickness, etc., you will:
1. Provide 1:1 and group support
2. Support clients with attending appointments
3. Assist with shopping
4. Help clients attend activities
5. Support with medication administration, where required
6. Liaise with external agencies, including health professionals
You will also be involved in delivering activities designed to help clients transition to independent living, contributing to a holistic mental health support service.
Successful candidates will be required to work in St Andrews in Exmouth and Culverlands in Exeter, covering a range of shifts including sleep-ins and weekends. Shifts may vary from 0800-1600, 1200-2000, 1000-1800, and 0900-2230 at both services.
About You
You will have a working knowledge of the needs and support requirements of people with complex mental health needs or experience in another social care setting.

* Experience in mental health support, education, training, or leading activities is desirable
Ideally, you will be able to participate in our 24-hour shift rota and on-call system.
