Lead Community Learning Disability Nurse – Band 7
Join the Children and Young People’s Services with Learning Disabilities in NE Hampshire within Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. A rare and exciting opportunity to lead the nursing service, deliver high-quality interventions, and work within a multi-disciplinary team across the NE Hampshire area.
Job responsibilities
* Lead the nursing provision within a service, ensuring relevant clinical supervision is provided to staff and that standards of service provision are set, monitored and maintained.
* Deliver high-quality nursing assessments, interventions, and consultations within generic and specialised services.
* Provide professional leadership and continued development of a nursing team within the service area.
* Lead supervision and Individual Performance Reviews/Appraisals for all nursing staff.
* Communicate the healthcare needs of people with learning disabilities to service commissioners and providers; contribute to divisional developments in nursing practice.
* Develop and implement appropriate policies, protocols and care pathways.
* Contribute to staff recruitment and to wider strategic plans regarding nurse recruitment.
* Ensure needs of people with protected characteristics are addressed within local services and future developments.
* Oversee KPIs for the service.
Person Specification
Essential
* RNLD Nursing Degree/Diploma
* Nursing Mentorship supervisor/Assessor
* 5 years minimum relevant post-qualification clinical experience, 2 of which within LD community team
* Experience of leading clinical practice/service development/project work
* Experience of supervising junior staff
* Interest/skill in a specialist area
Desirable
* Additional academic clinical qualification relevant to area of practice
* Additional leadership/management study
* Experience with ASD/ADHD assessments within LD
* Experience of LD within Children and Young People community services
* Experience of developing/delivering specialist teaching/training packages

* Salary: £50,008 to £56,908 a year incl. 5% Fringe HCAS, pa, pro rata
