Overview St John's is a co‑educational Independent School for pupils aged 2–16 years. We are seeking an experienced Head of Department for Maths and Statistics to join our supportive department.
Responsibilities
Teach GCSE Maths and Statistics to KS3 and KS4 pupils, including Foundation and Higher tiers.
Plan and deliver engaging lessons.
Assess pupils’ progress and provide targeted support.
Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff.
Participate in the extra‑curricular programme and school initiatives.
Support safeguarding and welfare policies.
Qualifications
Qualified teacher with QTS and an undergraduate degree in Maths, Statistics or a related subject.
Extensive experience teaching KS3 and KS4.
Excellent subject knowledge and classroom practice.
Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate pupils and staff.
High expectations of child behaviour and achievement.
Inclusive practice with a flexible approach to support all children.
