Job Description
We are recruiting an experienced professional to lead and grow our Advisory work in the defence sector, reporting to the Head of Industrial Advisory. You will be responsible for ensuring the technical and commercial success of projects delivered.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the business growth of Industrial Advisory in the defence sector.
* Support strategic growth objectives of Advisory Services and Industrial Advisory.
* Develop a strategic growth plan for defence and deliver on this plan.
* Support development of value propositions for Industrial Advisory capabilities applied into defence environments.
* Support innovative thought leadership that sets AECOM apart.
* Develop best practice methods and standards for manufacturing process improvements.
* Build a network within AECOM to promote Advisory into projects and with their clients.
* Develop client relationships through project delivery and business development.
* Support development of solutions to business/client challenges from foundational analysis.
* Collaborate with teams to formulate strategy and develop offerings that maximize the wider AECOM potential.
* Ensure projects delivered under your management meet quality, cost and time.
Qualifications
* Must hold or be eligible for Security clearance of SC level (Resident in the UK for at least 5 years), UK national and single passport holder.
* Experienced, approachable leader with strong leadership, coaching, training, influencing skills.
* Background in in‑house manufacturing/engineering, design, project or process improvement, or machine/system integrator within defence.
* Automation/robotics knowledge and experience is an advantage.
* Mechanical handling experience including cranes.
* Manufacturing equipment design, layout planning or production process planning.
* Experience developing consulting capacity and stakeholder relationships.
* Initiative, problem‑solving skills, ability to listen to clients and form compelling arguments.
* Flexible and willing to work away from the office; hybrid model with travel across the UK, Europe and other locations.
* Understanding of continuous improvement, Lean principles, Six Sigma, leading improvement/change projects.
Preferred
HND level or above, or 10+ years of relevant experience; membership of an appropriate professional body is advantageous.
Additional Information
Work model: Hybrid. Regular travel to UK, Europe and further afield. Location: London, United Kingdom.
