Level 3 Teaching Assistant – Redhill – Start asap/January
Key Responsibilities
Classroom Support
1. Assist the class teacher in planning, delivering, and evaluating learning activities.
2. Lead small group work and targeted interventions to support pupil progress.
3. Provide one-to-one support for pupils with additional learning needs, ensuring inclusive practice.
4. Help create an engaging, safe, and positive learning environment.
Teaching & Learning
5. Adapt learning materials to meet the needs of individual pupils.
6. Use a range of behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour.
7. Assess and record pupil progress, feeding back to the teacher regularly.
8. Support pupils in developing independence, confidence, and social skills.
Pastoral & Safeguarding
9. Build positive, supportive relationships with pupils.
10. Promote pupil wellbeing and uphold safeguarding responsibilities at all times.
11. Support pupils with SEND, behavioural needs, or emotional/social challenges.

12. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
13. Ability to support learning independently and work proactively
14. Understanding of child development and SEND
15. Good organisational and behaviour-management skills
16. Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach
17. Ability to work as part of a team and follow professional guidance
Qualifications
18. Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
19. GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
20. Safeguarding and first aid training (desirable)
