A well-established and highly regarded regional law firm is seeking two Risk & Compliance Solicitors to join its expanding Risk & Compliance team, supporting the Senior Lawyer. These roles act as the escalation point for complex and high-risk compliance issues and lead key risk and governance projects across the firm.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide expert advice on complex risk, compliance, professional standards, ethics, data protection and conflict of interest matters.
* Lead and deliver risk and compliance projects and process improvements.
* Support the promotion and embedding of a positive compliance culture firm-wide.
* Work closely with business leaders on the risk and compliance aspects of new initiatives.
* Draft, update and maintain terms of business, engagement documents, policies and training materials.
* Design and deliver risk and compliance training to legal teams across different divisions.
* Monitor regulatory developments and advise on their impact on the firm.
* Prepare briefing notes and reports for escalation of high-risk matters.
* Coach and support junior team members.
Essential:
* Extensive experience in legal risk and compliance within a law firm.
* Strong technical knowledge of relevant regulations and professional conduct rules.
* Excellent communication and written advisory skills.
* High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Desirable:
* Qualified solicitor (current practising certificate).
* Legal or compliance-related qualifications.
* Experience leading or mentoring colleagues.
