Overview
Tra inee Building Inspector positions across England. LABC, the organisation representing all local authority building control teams in England and Wales, is recruiting trainees to join the LABC Academy from September 2026. The programme is fully funded and will award Level 4 and Level 5 diplomas in building control surveying, preparing successful candidates to become Registered Building Inspectors and providing a pathway to become a Chartered Surveyor or Building Engineer.

Responsibilities
* Assist in delivering surveying activities relating to building control.
* Work with designers and contractors to achieve compliance with building regulations.
* Carry out inspections of building work and respond to dangerous structure call‑outs.
* Assist in technical investigations and support the learning of Building Control processes.
Qualifications
* Minimum of three A‑levels at grade C or higher (or equivalent – 80 UCAS points).
* Demonstrable experience in a relevant or related discipline (e.g., construction, ex‑military, fire).
* Level 3 NVQ or equivalent qualification in construction or a related discipline.
