NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is at the forefront of digital transformation in healthcare. We are looking for two experienced and motivated Programme Managers to join our Digital Directorate, playing a pivotal role in transforming acute hospital workflows and Interface care through digital innovation. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and deliver complex, high‑impact digital programmes that directly support clinical teams, improve patient safety, and enhance the flow of care across our acute hospitals.
About The Role
As a Programme Manager within the Digital Services, Strategy, Programmes & Innovation team, you will provide senior leadership to the delivery of large‑scale digital programmes, with a particular focus on:
* Acute hospital digital workflows
* Interface care and virtual
* Clinical systems and service redesign
* Digital solutions that support patient pathways from admission to discharge
* Preparing for and supporting emerging subnational digital planning arrangements
Key Responsibilities
You will:
* Lead the end‑to‑end delivery of complex digital programmes and projects, ensuring alignment with NHSGGC and national digital strategies
* Drive delivery of digital solutions within health settings, supporting safe, efficient, and joined‑up care
* Support cross‑board and subnational planning activity
* Work closely with clinical and operational teams to understand workflows and redesign services enabled by digital technology
* Provide strong programme governance, including risk, issue, dependency and benefits management
* Manage budgets, resources and suppliers, ensuring value for money and measurable outcomes
* Ensure solutions meet all information governance, security, clinical safety and regulatory requirements
* Work with a wide range of clinical, operational and digital stakeholders to support effective delivery and change
* Influence and engage senior clinicians and managers to support adoption and culture change
* Act as a credible digital advisor across the organisation, contributing to the wider Digital Strategy
About You
We are looking for someone who combines strong programme leadership skills with a genuine passion for improving patient care through digital innovation.
You Will Bring
* Significant senior‑level experience delivering IT/digital programmes within the NHS or health and care sector
* A strong track record of managing complex programmes, budgets and multidisciplinary teams
* Experience working with clinical systems and supporting service change in acute environments
* Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence at senior clinical and managerial levels
* The ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and maintain momentum in complex environments
Desirable (but Not Essential)
* Experience working with TrakCare or similar patient administration/EPR systems
* Formal project or programme management qualifications (e.g. PRINCE2, MSP)
* Experience working across multiple organisations or at regional/national level
