The role:
The service is recruiting a Lead Occupational Therapist to provide leadership across Mental Health, Recovery, and Alcohol and Drug Recovery Services. The role includes professional governance, clinical leadership, oversight of risk management, and maintaining a direct clinical caseload. The post requires an enthusiastic and motivated individual with strong clinical decisionmaking skills, risk assessment capability, and the ability to prioritise within a dynamic service environment.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
Full-time, Permanent
The post is based within East Renfrewshire Mental Health Recovery & ADRS.
Base location, Eastwood/Barrhead Health & Care Centres
Shift Pattern, Monday - Friday, 9 am to 5 pm
Key responsibilities:
1. Providing professional governance and clinical leadership across all Mental Health, Recovery, and Alcohol and Drug Recovery teams.
2. Offering oversight of risk management across the service.
3. Holding a direct clinical caseload.
4. Delivering clinical oversight and leadership to multidisciplinary teams.
5. Contributing to innovation and continuous service improvement.
6. Inspiring, motivating, and supporting colleagues while also working independently.
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
7. A strong passion for Occupational Therapy.
8. Welldeveloped understanding of practice within community mental health settings and alcohol and drug services.
9. Demonstrated leadership skills.
10. Commitment to service development and improvement.
11. Ability to work as an enthusiastic team player while also using initiative confidently.
