Lead Clinical Pharmacist – Oncology & Haematology
Fixed‑term position covering maternity until 1 January 2027 within the Pharmacy Oncology & Haematology team, based at Ipswich with responsibilities across Ipswich & Colchester.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide a highly specialised clinical pharmacy service to the Oncology & Haematology Clinical Divisional Group, including inpatient ward, day unit and outpatient clinics.
* Develop and maintain the clinical pharmacy service for specified tumour types as determined by the Lead Pharmacist.
* Develop clinical guidelines and protocols for the use of medicines within the O&H CDG speciality.
* Support the O&H CDG by undertaking independent non‑medical prescriber activities as directed.
* Validate and final‑check chemotherapy prescriptions in collaboration with the Chemotherapy Preparation Unit.
* Investigate medicines‑related risk‑management incidents and audits and implement recommended actions.
* Support the O&H CDG research and development team with clinical trial implementation and audit management.
* Act as a non‑medical prescriber supporting prescribing for O&H patients on the ward/day unit.
Qualifications & Experience
Registered non‑medical prescriber, with knowledge and experience in oncology and haematology medicines. Ability to practice within designated clinics and liaise closely with the patient’s multidisciplinary team.
