We are seeking a dedicated, caring, and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a Specialist Resource Provision (SRP) at a primary school in Slough. You will be supporting a Reception-aged child who is non-verbal and has a diagnosis of autism, helping them to access learning and develop key communication and social skills in a nurturing, structured environment. Responsibilities: Provide consistent 1:1 support for a Reception-aged child with autism who is also non-verbal. Support the development of communication and interaction skills. Help the child engage positively in both the SRP and mainstream classroom environments. Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCo, therapists, and external professionals to ensure the child’s needs are fully met. Promote the child’s social, emotional, and sensory well being in line with their Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Encourage independence, confidence, and participation in everyday routines and play. Record observations and contribute to reviews and planning meetings. Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. Requirements: Experience supporting children with autism and/or communication needs in a school, nursery, or similar setting. A calm, patient, and empathetic approach. Good understanding of early years learning and development. Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a collaborative mindset.
