Experienced Field Service Engineer is now wanted to join a leading power solutions company with a strong reputation for quality and reliability. This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer with solid mechanical and electrical skills who enjoys variety, autonomy, and working across customer sites. You’ll be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing diesel generators for both rental and customer-owned equipment, ensuring exceptional standards of safety, performance, and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Carry out planned service and maintenance on diesel generators. Diagnose faults and complete breakdown repairs efficiently. Conduct site surveys as required. Participate in the company’s on-call rota. Maintain accurate service records and ensure work complies with safety and quality standards. Uphold company Health & Safety and ISO procedures across all work environments. About You Qualified in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Diesel Fitting, or Plant (City & Guilds, BTEC, or equivalent). Alternatively, have completed an approved engineering apprenticeship. Proven experience in servicing and repairing generator sets (e.g., FG Wilson, Cummins). Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills. Previous field service experience advantageous. Full UK driving licence essential (towing categories an advantage). Excellent customer communication skills and professional approach. ECS, CSCS, or CCNSG card preferred but not essential – training available. Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team. What’s on Offer Salary from £32,682 to £38,300 (with potential to earn up to £54,000 with overtime) Mon-Friday 12am-4am, double time 8am-5p, standard time, 5pm to midnight, time and a half. Saturdays 12am-4am double time, 4am to midnight, time and a half. Sundays and BH's, double time.
