We are pleased to invite applications for a Supply Chain Development Officer to join our Economic Development and Business Gateway Aberdeen City & Shire team.
Job Overview
Aberdeenshire Council seeks a candidate with experience and understanding of public sector procurement processes, along with excellent communication and networking skills to encourage the supply chain to increase their capacity to tender for public sector contracts. Experience in developing and working within public/private/third sector partnerships is desirable. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, demonstrate commercial aptitude, and be capable of delivering results within demanding deadlines. Report writing will be essential to monitor local content and collaborate closely with procurement, the Business Gateway team, and economic development officers.
Responsibilities
1. Engage proactively with private and third sector businesses to support growth through capacity building.
2. Develop initiatives to enhance tendering capabilities of local businesses.
3. Identify organizations, companies, and individuals who can add value to procurement performance and facilitate introductions.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience in public/private sector procurement, preferably in a regulated environment.
* Experience in developing and managing partnerships across sectors is desirable.
Additional Details
The role is based at Woodhill House with travel throughout Aberdeen City & Shire. It is a full-time, permanent position with flexible working considered. The work style is hybrid and client-facing, involving office work, site visits, and home working. A current full driving license and access to a car are required. Occasional evening and weekend work may be necessary.
