Design & Technical Engineer
Location: Dungannon | Cork | Belfast | Dublin (one of the sites)
This is a fantastic and challenging opportunity for a Technical Applications & Design Engineer seeking employment in an expanding and thriving company that specializes in all aspects of hydraulic and electrohydraulic solutions. We have been in business for more than 50 years.
The company provides hydraulic, electrohydraulic, and fluid conveyancing solutions to customers across multiple sectors. The Technical Applications & Design Engineer will be an integral part of the internal Engineering team with support from Northern Ireland and ROI’s largest fluid power specialists. This role suits an individual wanting to hone and develop their skills within a fast‑paced, diverse environment.
Scope
This role will support a multi‑disciplined Technical Sales & Engineering team, providing Fluid Power products and technical solutions to customers across a wide range of applications and industries. A deep understanding of Hydraulic systems, Transmission Systems, and components such as pumps, valves, actuators, filtration, and associated Fluid Power applications will be required, and ongoing training will be provided.
Key responsibilities
* System Design: Translate specifications provided by applications engineers into detailed fluid power system designs, ensuring alignment with customer requirements.
* Bill of Materials (BOM): Generate comprehensive BOMs for designed systems, detailing all required components and materials for production.
* Cost Pricing: Collaborate with pricing teams to provide accurate cost estimates for designed fluid power systems, considering material costs, labour, and other relevant factors.
* Project Collaboration: Liaise closely with project managers and workshop managers to facilitate a seamless transition from design to production, ensuring efficient communication and timely project completion.
* Documentation: Create manuals and technical data sheets for designed systems in adherence to quality management processes, providing comprehensive and clear documentation for both internal and external stakeholders.
* Systems Commissioning: Work with stakeholders to carry out Factory Acceptance Testing and on‑site commissioning as required.

* Undertake any other duties reasonably required in line with the level of responsibility of the post and in order to meet the changing needs of the organisation.
* Must also be prepared to talk to customers face‑to‑face to discuss any aspect of each enquiry or project.
