BIM Technician Immediately Required
Must have MEP / Building Services Experience
Our client is a leading M&E building services contractor delivering projects across
commercial, retail, healthcare, education and leisure sectors. Operating as part of integrated project teams, they design, coordinate and install complex mechanical and electrical services on schemes ranging from plantroom upgrades to large scale new builds. Due to continued growth and a strong forward order book, they are looking to appoint a BIM / Revit Technician with an M&E focus to strengthen their in - house design and coordination capability.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Revit Technician or CAD / BIM Technician from an
M&E background who wants to deepen their BIM experience and progress towards
coordination and management responsibilities. Over time, the successful candidate will
have the opportunity to step into a management role, helping to shape the future of the
department, its processes and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
• Produce and develop 3D Revit models for mechanical, electrical and public health
(MEP) services across a range of projects.
• Generate 2D drawings (layouts, sections, schematics, details) from the Revit model
for tender, construction and as-built stages.
• Carry out clash detection using Navisworks, coordinating M&E services with
architectural and structural models.
• Produce and update schedules (equipment, valves, luminaires, etc.) directly from
the model.
• Support the CDE (Common Data Environment) processes (e.g. BIM 360 /
Viewpoint / similar) – uploading, checking and issuing coordinated models and drawings.
• Liaise with internal teams and external consultants (architects, structural
engineers, other MEP designers) to resolve clashes and coordination issues.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of BIM standards, templates and workflows within the business.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
• Proven experience as a Revit Technician / BIM Technician / CAD Technician
within M&E building services (consultant or contractor).
• Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Revit for MEP modelling.
• Experience using Navisworks for clash detection and model review.
• Able to read and interpret M&E drawings, schematics and specifications.
• Good understanding of how M&E services are installed on site – plantrooms, risers,
containment, ductwork, pipework and cable routes.
• Competent in producing 2D drawings and details (AutoCAD or Revit-based).
• Familiarity with working in a BIM environment and following BIM Execution Plans.
• Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing accurate, well-presented
information.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
