Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales and Marketing Manager to lead our sales initiatives and marketing strategies. This role is pivotal in driving business growth through effective management of B2B sales processes and the utilisation of Salesforce for data-driven decision-making. Duties
Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong partnerships with wholesale and retail customers, ensuring high service levels and maximizing commercial returns.
Sales Strategy & Execution: Lead daily trading activities, negotiating prices and volumes to optimize profitability. Identify and pursue new sales opportunities across regional, national, and cutting markets.
Market Intelligence & Growth: Develop deep market insights, including competitor analysis and customer segmentation. Use this knowledge to inform pricing strategies and identify growth opportunities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with production, transport, and planning teams to align sales with operational capabilities. Ensure efficient stock management and minimize waste.
Performance Analysis & Reporting: Monitor and report on sales performance, trends, and forecasts. Present actionable insights at team meetings to support strategic planning.
Credit & Financial Oversight: Oversee credit control within the sales function. Liaise with the accounts team to manage invoicing, credit extensions, and cash flow tracking.
Experience
Review daily production plans to anticipate shortages or weight banding issues; coordinate with Live Planning to resolve.
Process incoming orders swiftly to ensure timely updates for production.
Maintain full responsibility for stock control across all sales channels.
Tailor sales approaches for different market segments: regional, national, and cutting markets.
Attend daily operational meetings and weekly planning sessions to align sales with logistics and production.
Ensure transport plans are cost-effective and meet delivery requirements.
Collaborate with accounts to monitor credit terms and ensure timely invoicing and payments.
Experience
Essential: Minimum 3 years in a customer-facing sales role within the food industry, with pricing responsibility
Desirable: Experience in strategic sales planning and market development
Skills
Strong negotiation and influencing skills
High proficiency in Excel and Word
Analytical mindset with planning and forecasting capabilities
