Dunwood Manor Nursing Home is a long-established and highly regarded nursing and dementia care home set within a beautiful country house and 12 acres of landscaped gardens near Romsey, Hampshire. We provide high-quality nursing, dementia, respite, and palliative care for residents aged 60 and over, delivered by a skilled, compassionate team.

Role Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and energetic Activities Coordinator to join our dedicated team. This rewarding role focuses on designing and delivering person-centred activities guided by evidence-based practice that enhance residents' physical, emotional, and social wellbeing. You will play a key role in helping residents stay active, connected, and happy.
A bubbly personality and great sense of humour are essential for creating a warm, engaging atmosphere that brings joy to our residents' lives.
Key Responsibilities
Planning and Delivering Activities
* Plan and deliver a varied schedule of daily, weekly, and seasonal activities that support residents' individual interests and care needs
* Encourage participation and adapt activities for residents with dementia or cognitive challenges at all stages
* Build meaningful relationships with residents, families, and colleagues to create a sense of belonging and purpose
* Create and maintain life story books and memory boxes with residents and families
* Coordinate special events, celebrations, and community outings.
* Keep accurate activity records and feedback logs.
* Manage activity budgets, maintain supplies, and ensure health and safety compliance.
* Produce engaging newsletters to inform residents and their relatives/friends about upcoming activities
* Work with external entertainers, volunteers, and community organisations
Collaboration
* Develop effective working relationships with nursing staff, care teams, and multi-disciplinary professionals
* Work closely with families to understand residents' life histories, preferences, and interests
* Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of residents
Requirements
* A bubbly personality and great sense of humor - essential for creating a warm, engaging atmosphere
* Passion and enthusiasm for working with elderly residents and making a real difference to their lives
* Good English - written and verbal communication skills
* Strong interpersonal skills - able to build relationships with residents, families, and staff
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
* Experience as an Activities Coordinator (beneficial but not essential - full training provided)
* Previous experience in a care home setting
