Hours: Full Time, 37 hours per week
Flexible Working: Role offers flexible working options, including working from home, DWFRS Stations or Support Offices.
Travel Requirements: Must hold a full current driving licence and travel daily to schools and attend monthly team meetings within Dorset or Wiltshire. Use of own vehicle required; a service vehicle (manual transmission only) will be available.
Appointment Type: Temporary – 12 month fixed term contract (maternity cover) or until return of substantive postholder.

Responsibilities
* Deliver safety education programmes within schools and colleges throughout the Wiltshire and Swindon area.
* Coordinate attendance at schools and colleges, acting as a point of contact.
* Maintain accurate records of education delivery.
* Work with firefighters to support them in the delivery of education.
Ideal Candidate
* Experience delivering education within a school environment.
* Ability to adapt to the diverse needs of children and young people.
* Proficiency in Microsoft packages for all aspects of the role.
* Excellent communication skills: professional capacity with adults and effective communication with children during delivery.
* Understanding of safeguarding procedures.
Other Information
* The role may involve some evening and weekend working; such duties are infrequent and will be discussed with you in advance.
* There is a rigorous selection process; identity of the successful candidate will be checked thoroughly, including an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) clearance prior to offer.
* Any offer of employment is subject to full pre‑employment checks including identity checks, right to work in the UK, medical, negative drug test, satisfactory references, verification of employment history and explanation of gaps in employment over the last 5 years. Full 5‑year employment history is required.
* As a regulated activity working with children and young people, anyone on the DBS barred list cannot work in this role.
* If a permanent position arises during the period of your fixed‑term contract that is substantially similar to the role you are carrying out, you may be considered for the role in the first instance.
* If you hold international qualifications, you must provide official evidence showing comparison to UK qualifications (ENIC Statement of Comparability). ENIC charges for this service; we cannot reimburse.
